A very welcome relief as the weekend came around this week. Our usual Saturday is a catch up at home, pick Brooke up from work while the boys are at sport and go out to lunch with mum. We had to change it a little today as Brooke worked all day, Shakira had a piano rehearsal for Christmas Eve Church and I had promised to take her to the pageant that evening. After having lunch with mum I dropped Shakira off  to here rehearsal went to pick up Brooke and then went back for Shakira.
We took along a friend of Shakira's who was also at rehearsal to the Pageant  and our photos today are from the Christmas Pageant.

Dec 14

In our home today everyone was pretty much everywhere and I was trying to really do more than I could. As myself Allan and Tim were all at work, Brooke was away and mum had a function I had to find somewhere for Shakira to go. Lucky for me a darling friend took her for the day and until later that day we were all in different places. When we were eventually back together I didn't have energy for much else. It was later in the evening that Shakira borrowed the camera to snap a photo of Allan asleep. While I have included it in my story the photo is in the Santa bag as it is not the best but still makes up our December Days story. Also along with that is a photo of my work roster but because the details are not for public viewing it is also included in the Santa brown bag. I also included just a few of our Christmas cards to record our day on December 14.

Dec 13

I am very traditional by nature. As today was the 1st day of school holidays for us and I didn't need to work I made my traditional trip to Christmas in the City. We went to Myer 1st and while Shakira is too big for all the activities she still did her sand creation. We then went to David Jones for our Santa photo, Shakira seems to be happy to have her photo taken with Santa at the moment from David Jones and there is never a wait. However Santa wasn't coming back until later so we found a water play area in the City and spent the rest of the time there.

After our day out I mentioned to Shakira that one day I will probably be old and on my own doing this same tradition because I started this when all my kids were little and slowly my 3 kids have gone down to 1. She in her sweet innocence said I will be doing this when I am as old as Brooke.

Ok so I am kind of cheating on this page, well not really anyhow, but I didnt take photos today. Silly me especially because it was the 12-12-12. What I did have was Shakira last school activities about Christmas so I included them. Re my previous post I was happy to find a home for them and looking back at last years December Daily, I know how important it is to include some artwork.

I hope Dec 12 was all that it could be for you all.

Dec 11

More school ending activities.  It also gets really busy the last week of our school year and we also end up with a lot of stuff, their left over supplies, their work for the year and reports.  Today was about this.  I need to go through all the girls school work and see what we need to keep.  As a scrapbook er I had a tendency to want it all, but I also know that this is impossible because there is no way I could physically store it all.

It is the last week of school here for Shakira and the school is starting to pack up the classroom as next year she will be in another grade.
So the teachers could pack up a little the school had activities for the kids to do today. We were lucky with the weather as it was nice and hot (this day anyhow) and they were able to play on this big water slide.
Also her friends started to give out little friendship notes and Christmas cards so included it for today.

Dec 9 it is ok.

Sunday the 9th December was a little dis-organised here. We had to drop Brooke off early for rehearsal for school presentation night and we didn't end up getting all that we needed done today, so while frustrated about this, I do know that it is OK.

The photos are snapped of Shakira during the day and Brooke just before leaving home for presentation night that afternoon.  The journalling pretty much sums up our feeling of presentation night but also again I know that it is OK.

Over my December days from previous years these 2 haven't really made the pages as main subjects so I wanted to make it a priority that I included them this year. I had to have their full attention for the photos and the only way to get it was to grab them before they headed off to golf. Allan was OK with this if it meant he could leave straight after, Tim was not over enthusiastic. I actually snapped his photo as he was walking towards the camera asking me to stop. At least I have them both now, so happy that they will be included this year.

I did mention that I may print these photos bigger along with some of the girls and myself for our walls. Tim was in horror, how could I print a photo of him in golf clothes. I actually mentioned then to him, that this is one time that he  looks clean, tidy and presentable to me his mum anyhow and I would like a photo like that, he is not wanting this photo on our wall however.

My pages for the December album were all put together with scraps early November. I am now just adding the photos into them as I go and not worried much about the design element. My priority is to record my life now, enjoy December and not stress to much.

7 days gone already and routine was pretty much what my day was about today. I work most Fridays so my day was spent in my paying job. Because I am lucky to have a job that pays me I can sometimes buy myself a little gift OK maybe a big gift. I have a love of handbags and a love of colours, so having been watching this bag for a while when I noticed it on sale who could resist. I decided on an early Christmas gift. My DH asked what I wanted for Christmas and I just said I will get my own. He is pretty happy with that because it means he doesn't have to shop and he wants new Golf Clubs for Christmas so he is happy to shop for himself as well. This way we both get the luxuries we love.

Also because it was a work day and I work with a lot of elderly they were very happy with the photos of the Duchess of Cambridge so thought why not record that today and as well and I needed some bit of Christmas on my page so more photos of our decoration.
That was December 7 for me.

I can feel the busy days of December slipping away ever so quickly so I am trying to remain in the present and act on spontaneity.

Like everyone else there is always something to do and you feel your time can be spent better sometimes. However because I am making it a priority to record my December days that while we were waiting for Shakira at piano lessons that we just went with the flow of our time. Brooke and I each took turns with the camera, snapping photos of all the beauty down by the the river. It was while doing this that we decided to capture each other. It was a fun easy way to spend our time and I am really happy with our results.

Today my photos were taken of the smaller details within my Christmas Decorations.

I have been taking all my photos for this project with my phone and using the phone editor as well as Instagram I have found it easy to remember to take photos. Also its very easy just to email them to my computer and then I can print from there.

It was hot here today and the kids had to play netball after school. There was a welcome relief in the air as a storm was approaching us. After netball we needed just a few more Christmas items, while the sky wasn't as impressive as at netball and it was getting quite late, there was still a little warmth in the colours.

Oh dear these days pass by ever so quickly.
These last few weeks I have been doing a few online classes. One of them is the Becky Higgins real project life class as Big Picture. It was through this class that I was a little motivated to declutter a bit. In this process I found some old handmade Christmas creations from my elder 2 children. Today's page focus's on these as well as our little tree from last year and a new creation by myself using the Sizzix eclips and files from SVG cuts.

Continuing on with my December album are our photos from Day 2.

As it was the weekend we spent it getting organised with our decorating inside. This year our home will only be decorated inside due to a very big mess in my DH's shed and there a misplacement of our Christmas Lights. We were unable to locate our tree either and a dear friend who didn't want hers anymore, gave us this nice big one.

And so it begins

Today marks the start of the count down to Christmas for us. We try to get a lot organised before December and we then are able to focus more on the true meaning of Christmas and also the strengthening of relationships with all that are near and dear to us.

This is the start of our December Daily and part of what is tradition for us now.  Ali Edwards is a fantastic inspiration in this project and her dedication and inspiration are to be truly admired.
